The Science and Engineering Olympics is an annual event hosted at the Canada Science and Technology Museum in Ottawa and organised by the University of Ottawa, Carleton University and the Science and Technology Museum. The participants are Ottawa-region high school and junior high school students. The next competition will be held on Wednesday February 22, 2012.

The goal of the Science and Engineering Olympics is to educate youth; to develop student's potential in logical and analytical thinking as well as in proper design practices. Team spirit, cooperation, friendship, and fair play are fundamental to a successful participation in the Olympics.

In the Olympics, there are two categories: the grade 7 & 8 category, and the high school category. These are judged and marked separately. Points are awarded for each of the competitions according to the place obtained, with 15 points being the maximum score for the first place in the prepared events and 5 points for the onsite events. The winning team is the one that obtains the greatest total number of points.
