The Organizing Committee cordially invites you to participate in the international symposium NANOPOROUS
MATERIALS - III by presenting an oral paper or a poster. The meeting will take place in the Canadian National Capital
Ottawa (Province of Ontario) from Wednesday, June 12, 2002 to Saturday, June 15, 2002 at 12 pm.

The previous meeting was held in Banff, Alberta, Canada on May 25 - 28, 2000. It was an extremely successful event
attended by scientists from 22 countries. About 140 oral and poster presentations were given. The Proceedings were
published in the Elsevier's series Studies in Surface Science and Catalysis, No. 129, 2000.

SCOPE OF MEETING

NANOPOROUS MATERIALS meetings are intended to bring together investigators from multiple disciplines to discuss
complementary approaches and recent advances in this important field. Materials of interest are all those with pore sizes
larger than 1 nm. This includes:

New findings on innovative self assembled porous materials with less than 1 nm pores will also be considered.

Studies on synthesis, modification, characterization and applications of such materials are welcome.

VENUE

The technical sessions of the meeting will be held at the University of Ottawa which is located at the heart of the city (see map).

For accommodation, a block of rooms was reserved for the attendees in a hotel nearby. The name, address and other pertinent information regarding the hotel will be provided shortly. Social events will take place in the same hotel.

Ottawa is a showcase for Canadian history and culture and a leading centre for research and development. It boasts the finest in Canadian arts, culture and history. This beautiful city surrounded by three rivers, is enclosed by 42 000 acres protected greenbelt. The Rideau Canal meanders through the city. The Gatineau Hills and Park, which are located only 10 minutes from downtown, offer outstanding recreational opportunities and breathtaking views.

TRANSPORTATION

The Ottawa International Airport is located at 10 miles south of downtown Ottawa. There are frequent connections to
Montreal and Toronto. To reach downtown, different ground transportation (limousine, taxi, hotel shuttle, public transit and
care rental) are available. All pertinent information may be found in the airport website.

SOCIAL PROGRAM

Welcome Party: A welcome get together Reception will be held on Wednesday evening, June 12, 2002.

Conference Banquet: The banquet will take place on Friday night, June 14, 2002. The banquet will take place in a beautiful room in the Canadian Museum of Civilization
