Program in Physical Geography

geophysique.jpgYou want to study how humans interact with nature? Examine how this interaction shapes landscapes, regions, the whole planet and its environment? You want to understand major climate changes and the management of the planet’s resources? Expand your knowledge of geomorphology, geology, physical geography and human geography?

The Physical Geography program offered by the Faculty of Science is just what you need. You will learn data-interpretation and data-analysis methods through aerial photography, remote sensing, computing, image procession and geographic information systems (GIS).

This program will give you a solid basic training in geology, physics and chemistry. You will take many Faculty of Arts courses involving such geographical concepts as climate change, paleogeography, and digital-image processing. You will also participate in practical field and laboratory work designed to fine tune your observational and interpretational skills.

After you graduate

Rewarding careers are available in such areas as geophysics, geographic information systems, resource-management consultation, education, geographical economics, and policy analysis in a government department or agency. Graduate studies are also an option.
